The Senator representing Cross River Central senatorial district and APC Gubernatorial Candidate in Cross River State, Senator John Owan Enoh has urged Cross Riverians to sacrifice personal interests for the love of Cross River State; stressing that pettiness and sheer sentiments should be buried.
The gubernatorial hopeful stated this while speaking at a solemn Town Hall meeting organized by the All Progressives Congress candidate for Calabar Municipality/ Odukpani Federal Constituency, Rt. Hon Akiba.
Owan Enoh reemphasised that he is not in the governorship race for personal convenience but out of the overbearing need to right the wrongs of the past and profer sustainable solutions to the leadership menace of the incumbent government.
Speaking further, he said that the bright future of the state, our children and the next generation is fundamentally questioned, threatened and challenged.
He reiterated with utter shock and dismay that appointments are not jobs creation and what Cross River needs is a virile, purposeful and focused leadership that will transform the state to be at par with other states and even beyond.
In his words “Politics is in everything, but we must not play politics with everything, at least not with the mandate of our people.”
On his choice of Ntufam Ekpo Okon from the Southern senatorial district as his running mate, he added that he chosed him not just because he has known his track records, but because he is an embodiment of political ideology, steadfast leadership and represents what many Cross Riverians admire.
He pledged his commitment to reviving and restoring the prestigious Tinapa Business Resort in line with the overwhelming yearnings of Cross Riverians. This, he said is one of the fundamental issues discussed in his recent meeting with His Excellency Donald Duke, former Governor of the State.
