WHAT SOME OF THE NEW GOVERNORS ARE SAYING.

The newly sworn in Governor of Zamfara state has declared free health care service for women and children in the state.

The new governor of Oyo State, Mr. Seyi Makinde, has said he would scrap the
N3,000, being paid by pupils of all public primary and secondary schools in the state and also promised to donate his salary to pensioners.

In Gombe, the new Governor Mr Yahaya suspended all appointments, contracts and allocations by the state and local government councils as from 10/3/2019 by the former GOVERNOR, the announcement was made at the inaugural speech.

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, said rehabilitation work would commence on Lagos-Badagry Expressway from Mazamaza to Okokomaiko in june.

AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, the newly sworn in Governor of kwara state, promised to pay off all outstanding salaries and pension to all civil servant in the state.

The Kaduna State Governor has approved six months maternity leave for all new mothers in the state.

Adamawa governor, Umaru Fintiri was full of energy when he went to one of the Government girls schools in the state capital and interacted with the students and promised to look into the funding and upgrade of facilities and he also went to the state Secretariat and interacted with workers as he goes round offices to see for himself.

The new Governor of Imo State, Mr Emeka Ihedioha said, his predecessor, Rochas Okorocha, did not hand any document over to him. He said Okorocha left the Government House without any documentary record.
He claimed that the Government House is in a bad shape. There is nothing to show that the former governor handed anything over to him.

Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has sacked all political office holders including caretaker committee chairmen in all the 20 local government areas of the state.He also sacked chairmen and members of boards of extra-ministerial departments, special advisers, senior special assistants, special assistants and personal assistants appointed by his predecessor, Mohammed Abubakar.

Some have started on a positive notes while others, controversy have already overshadowed their welcome, like in Plateau and Kano, the governor’s have already drawn the battle line between them and some traditional council.
However, other newly sworn in governor’s decided to marry second wifes,Yobe and Nsarawa states.

Hopefully we will be able to hold them by their actions and inactions at the end of the four years.
