His endorsement cutting across party divides is said to be informed by the need to send the best to represent CR-NORTH at the national level.

Speaking with newsmen in Abuja recently, Chief Agi added that he is pursuing his aspiration with vigour and that he stands a good prognosis to get the party’s ticket and win the election based on his acceptability among the members of the party and the electorates.

“So, if I become the preference of the party members based on convictions about my unblemished past records, nothing can change that, because the sovereignty lies in the people via the ballot when it comes to election.

Speaking further on why he is vying at this time, the legal icon said the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria accords enormous power on political leadership and, of necessity, grants political leaders immense discretion to use it for the good of the people.

” Politicians wield enormous power, which if used judiciously and appropriately, can help transform our society and make it a better place. Therefore, my interest in seeking political power is to contribute to making our society a better place by deploying my competence and integrity in exercising the authority that political power offers.”

“Leaders are supposed to use the enormous power at the disposal of the citizens that they represent to deepen and strengthen the entire fabric of democracy. Their ambition, values, and integrity are variables that cannot be overlooked if democratic institutions have to be strengthened. The fate of people, the destinies of nations, and history itself are determined to a substantial extent by how well political leaders perform”.
