BRING BACK YALA ROADS AYADE

Owing to the reckless abandonment of the terrible and deplorable state of our roads in Cross River State; especially in Yala LGA by the administration of Gov Ben Ayade, on this day exactly one year ago, I supported the campaign by Ogar Emmanuel Oko wanting roads in Yala LGA to be rehabilitated or repaired.

Today history will made as Yala Youths are set to commence a peaceful rally to expose potholed roads, unmotorable roads and areas with no roads and accessibility at all in Yala LGA.

From Wanihem, Wanokom, Wanikade, Ebo, Yahe, Okpoma, Ochorchi, Okpudu, Igbekurikor, Ugaga, Okuku, Ijegu, Aliforkpa, Gabu, Echumoga, Echumofana etc etc, all the roads are in a state of despair and quagmire.

The rally will commence today with citizens travelling to various places to take pictures and videos with placards tagged #BringBackYalaRoads.

Initiated by Concerned Citizens of Yala LGA (CCY), citizens from across the fourteen political wards of the LGA will peacefully match to bring to the fore the deplorable condition of roads in Yala LGA.

They have named the campaign #BringBackYalaRoads with a conscious determination at ending the scourge and hardships associated with all unmotorable roads in the state.

The organizers are asking: why people are suffering? Where is the money (meant for road construction) disappearing? Many people have also lost their lives on these bad roads and government is still insensitive.

From all indications, the prevalence of bad roads in the state and Yala in particular is a sheer injustice and a criminal conspiracy against the people.

The main objectives of the campaign is to raise government awareness to the bad roads as people are fed up of roads pockmarked with potholes, no footpaths for pedestrians and unfinished works on major and minor public amenities.
