ETUNG STATE ASSEMBLY: WHY THE STATE HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY 2023 IS MBUMA SLOT

Since the creation of Etung L.G.A, in accordance with the zoning formula of State House and Chairmanship positions, a popular policy adopted by the entire Etung people to stabilize the Local Government Area politically and create a sense of belonging for all the political wards, is the equitable rotation of the office of the Council Chairman and State House of Assembly among the ten wards of Etung Local Government Area.

Based on the above, the Northern Etung Zone made up of two distinct groups: i.e. NTA and MBUMA with three wards each: NTA = (Agbokim, Ajassor, Ekim Wards) and MBUMA= (Abia, Bendeghe, Etomi Wards).

These positions are to be rotated equitably between NTA and MBUMA whenever they are zoned to Northern Etung.

With reference to the House of Assembly position, three slots have been allotted to Northern Etung. NTA have enjoyed two and MBUMA only one.

Currently, the office of the Council Chairman and that of the APC Chapter Chairman are occupied by NTA.

From the above analysis, we therefore make the following submissions, that:

(1)
The leadership of APC in Etung LGA should zone the office of the State
House of Assembly to MBUMA to avoid unnecessary spending of money and duplication of efforts by the aspirants.

(2)
The people of MBUMA should not be allowed to stay for eight years without enjoying any of these elective offices.

(3)
Actions should be taken early enough to implement the above recommendations.

We commend the anticipated prompt positive response to the above plight considering that Mbuma is the destination and George Abang is our Project for 2023.

Long live Etung Local Government Area.
Long live Northern Etung.
Long live MBUMA.

Thank you all.
